CUMBERLAND - Henry N. Belhumeur, of 27 Mount View Drive, Cumberland, passed away peacefully at the Mount St Rita Rest Home on June 30, 2012. He was survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Leona (Palin) Belhumeur.
Mr. Belhumeur was a veteran of World War II during which he attained the rank of sergeant with the 593rd Air Force unit and was stationed for much of the war in England.
He was a lace weaver for most of his working life working both at Central Lace in Central Falls and later Seekonk Lace.
He was the last remaining child of the 13 children born to Gaspard and Regina (Johnson) Belhumeur of Central Falls. He was a devoted and deeply loved father to his three children; Audrey Craig of Lincoln, RI, Gail Barba of Concord, NH and Henry Belhumeur of Orlando, FL.
In addition he will be deeply missed by his son-in-law Stephen Barba, six grandchildren; Bradley Craig, Douglas and Laura Barba, Noelle and Nathan Belhumeur, Nichole Terry, and one great grandchild, Sophie Terry.
A celebration of his life and funeral with military honors will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904.
