Helen M. Peloquin
WARREN - Helen M. (LaRiviere) Peloquin, formerly of Main Street Pawtucket, died peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Warren, R.I. She was 88. Helen was the wife of the late Henry W. Peloquin and the late John Smodics, Jr.
She was born on December 4, 1922 in Chicopee, MA to Marshall and Bernadette La Riviere. Helen grew up and attended school in Albany, NY, graduating from Philip Schyler senior High School, class of 1940. She worked as a weaver in textile mills throughout MA and RI until her retirement in 1980 from JMP Otts, in Pawtucket. She enjoyed music and was a member of the RI Country Music Association.
She is survived by her children, Wilfred Peloquin and his wife Carol of Tyler, TX, Francis Peloquin and his wife Linda of Rehoboth, MA, Robert Peloquin and his wife Donna of Pawtucket, RI, Barbara St. Jean and her husband William of Tarpon Springs, FL, Susan Bourgault and her husband Ronald of Pawtucket, RI, her sister, Mrs. Joan Peloquin of Southampton, MA, a brother, Albert Rivers of Tarpon Springs, FL, nineteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and seventeen nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, John Smodics and her daughter, Dolores (Smodics) Bink, her sister Bernadette La Riviere and a brother, George Gleim.
Mrs. Peloquin's funeral will be held Friday at 9:00am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of Our lady of Consolation Church, Sabin Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Thursday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
