CUMBERLAND- Helen M. (Gontarski) Campbell, 76, formerly of East Barrows Street, passed away Monday at the Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Joseph "Soupy" Campbell.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Wyzga) Gontarski.
She resided in Harrisville for the past 10 years, previously residing in Cumberland
Mrs. Campbell was employed as a welder for Texas Instruments Inc. for over 30 years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Cumberland. Among many interests, she loved to shop, go to the beach, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She leaves her three children, Joann Pomfret of Harrisville, William Campbell of Attleboro, MA, and Kathleen Larocque of Cumberland; four grandchildren, Candice Gaucher of Harrisville, Gregory Pomfret Jr. of Cumberland, William Larocque Jr. of Cumberland and Joseph Larocque of Cumberland; one great-granddaughter, Jade Love Gaucher of Harrisville; and one niece, Jeanne (Gontarski) Morse of Pawtucket. She was the sister of the late Walter Gontarski.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 8 AM from the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in the St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
