CUMBERLAND- Helen (Staba) Luiz, 92 formerly of Tyler Street, passed away Friday at the Oakland Grove Health Care Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late James Luiz.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Koziol) Staba. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, and a member of the Cumberland Senior Center.
She leaves her beloved children, James Luiz and his wife Charlene, Barbara Hampson and her husband George, all of Cumberland, and Patricia Scullin and her husband John of North Smithfield; her sister, Genevieve Walek of Pawtucket; seven grandchildren, Lisa Rashid (Michael), Jason Albuquerque (Robyn), Erika Hampson, Jonathan Scullin, Jessica White (John), Bradford Hampson(Kimberly) and James Luiz (Sarah), and six great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Diane Albuquerque and sister of the late Julia Stegnick, Walter Staba, Stanley Staba, John Staba, and Agnes Zabek, Catherine Staba, Veronica Rogala, Edward Staba and Leo Staba.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Oakland Grove Health Care Center, Activities Fund, 560 Cumberland Hill Road, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
