Helen C. Cook
CUMBERLAND - Helen C. (Wunschel) Cook, 82, of Melrose St. passed away peacefully Friday in the RI. Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late James B. Cook Sr.
Born in Pawtucket she was the daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Popiolek) Wunschel. She had resided in Cumberland for the past 62 years.
She was employed by the former A. T. Cross Co., Lincoln for a number of years and was previously employed by the former Peterson Puritan Co., Cumberland for many years.
Mrs. Cook was Past President and Secretary of the Cumberland Chapter 4646 AARP, member of the St. Aidan Parish and Senior Citizens Group, St. John Vianney Seniors and a Life Member of the R. I. Congress P.T.A.
She leaves four children, Janice L. Wright of Cumberland; James B. Cook, Jr. of Lincoln; Joseph W. Cook of Cumberland and Cindy L. Collins of Middletown and a sister Carol Eno of Pawtucket. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the step mother of the late Alfred Cook and sister of the late Barbara Sweitch.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m. in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
