LINCOLN - Habib "Murphy" Nassaney, 90, of Carriage Drive died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Hebert Nursing Home, Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Sarkas) Nassaney.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Sawaney) Nassaney, he was raised in Central Falls and had lived in Lincoln for the past 38 years.
He was the owner of H. (Murphy) Nassaney Carpet Installation, Lincoln for 20 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a World War II Army veteran and also served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was a member of the National Maritime Union of America and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps Camp.
He was a member of the Church of St. Basil the Great, Lincoln.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Mary Elizabeth Nassaney of Newport and David Elias Nassaney and his wife, Lee Anne Silvestre of Portsmouth; his sister, Gloria Solomon of Fall River, MA; his brother, Zaky Nassaney of Lincoln; his beloved grandchildren, Tarin and Stefan Nassaney; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Victorine Asermely, Ann Armoush, Pauline Sahady and Jennie Dolatly.
His funeral will be held FRIDAY, JULY 15 at 9:45 A.M. from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in the Church of St. Basil the Great, 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Basil's Cemetery, Cumberland.
