Glenn R. Cunningham
Glenn R. Cunningham, 70, of Heroux Blvd., died Sunday in the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of Priscilla (Lugn) Cunningham.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Samuel and Lenna (Atwell) Cunningham. He was raised in Nova Scotia returning to Cumberland at the age of six. and resided in Cumberland for the rest of his life.
Mr. Cunningham was a Cumberland High School Graduate and had earned his Associate Degree from Dean Junior College and his Bachelor Degree in Music from Acadia University, Wofveille, Nova Scotia. He earned his Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Providence College.
He was a retired school teacher for 33 years with the Pawtucket School Department. Mr.Cunningham was also an organist and choir director at various area churches for 55 years, most recently at the Candleberry Chapel, So. Main St., Attleboro. Mr. Cunningham was also an avid dog lover.
Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Dawn A. Froonjian of Stafford Springs, CT. One son, Shawn G. Cunningham of Attleboro. He was the half brother of William D. Cunningham of Oregon and brother of the late Donna Brackett and Joanne Cunningham.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday with services at 10 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Friday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Candleberry Chaple, 381 South Main St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
