CUMBERLAND - Gerald P. Brodeur of Owen drive, Cumberland died December 1, 2012 at his daughters home in Cumberland surrounded by his family. Mr. Brodeur was the husband of the late Edna (Ferguson) Brodeur.
He was born in Central Falls the son of the late Paul and Laura (Tetreault) Brodeur. He was a heavy equipment operator for Walsh Contracting for many years, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Brodeur was in the United States Army, serving in Germany from 1950-1953. Mr. Brodeur was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 10.
Mr. Brodeur is survived by his daughter Patricia A. Jackson and her husband James of Cumberland and his grandchildren Brian Jackson of Coventry, and Jennifer Jackson of Cumberland. He is also survived by his sisters Yvette Chatelle of Florida, and a deceased sister, Theresa Sears of Florida.
The funeral for Mr. Brodeur will be Thursday at 9am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a service in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 120 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland at 10am His burial will be in Seekonk Cemetery, Seekonk MA. The calling hours for Mr. Brodeur will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care of RI. In Mr. Brodeurs memory.
