LINCOLN- George "Pete" A. Charpentier, of Cambria Drive, passed away Sunday, March 10 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the husband of Marjorie I. (Sabourin) Charpentier, and they had been married for 25 years.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary Rose (Gravel) Charpentier. He resided in Lincoln for the past 15 years, previously residing in Central Falls.
He was a United States Army, World War II Veteran.
Mr. Charpentier was employed as a supervisor for the Union Wadding Company of Pawtucket for 42 years, retiring in 1991.
He was a communicant of St. Jude Church, Lincoln. He was very handy around the house, and always like to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a former member of the VFW Post, Hunt Street, Central Falls.
Besides his beloved wife, he leaves six step-children, Ronald Gadoury, Pat Horner, Brenda Duquette, Donna Carr, Theresa Slade, and Irene Smith; twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 8 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in St. Jude Church, Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM.
