LINCOLN - Following a courageous battle with leukemia, Frank J. Toole, Jr. of Lincoln, RI died on June 25, 2013. He was the former Vice-President and President of the Wm. K. Toole Company in Pawtucket, RI which provided hardware and industrial supplies to area business for over 100 years; before being sold in 1997. Frank together with his wife, of nearly 57 years Anne Marie (Donley) Toole, raised five children in the Saylesville Highlands section of Lincoln. They instilled in them a strong work ethic and the importance of giving back to the communities in which they live and work.
During his years as a business owner, Frank served on the boards of the Blackstone Valley Red Cross and Chamber of Commerce in Pawtucket. He also served in several positions with the National Industrial Distributors Association before becoming its president from 1981 to 1982. Frank graduated from St. Raphael Academy in 1947 and Fordham University in 1951. He served as a medical technician in the Korean War from 1951-53. He was an avid golfer, beginning the game as a teenager and continuing to play well into his eighties. He and his family have been members of the Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford for over fifty years.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Marie, a brother, Philip B. and Jeanne Toole of Seekonk, MA; his five children Frank J. Toole, III and Deidre of Pawcatuck, CT; Maryanne and Philip Rittenhouse of Corning, NY ; Steven and Janice Toole of Holden, MA, Paul and Jennifer Toole of Narragansett, RI and Jane and Daniel Casanta of Southbury, CT. Frank leaves 10 grandchildren, 4 nieces and nephews and 4 grand nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank J. and Clare L. Toole and a brother and sister-in-law, William K. and Louise B. Toole.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Jude's Church, Front St., Lincoln at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
