GEORGETOWN, KY - Hargreaves (Hardy), Frances, 93, of Georgetown, KY, formally of Pawtucket, RI, passed away after a short illness on January 11, 2013. She was the wife of the late Clarence Hargreaves. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Alice (Lumb) Hardy.
She was employed as a supervisor at Balfour Jewelry Company in Attleboro, MA for many years and former employee for the City of Pawtucket Collections Division. She spent many years with her husband at Slater Park, where he was caretaker. In her retirement she enjoyed running the Historic Looff Carousel.
She was a former communicant of St. Teresa's Church, Pawtucket and enjoyed working in the parish office. She was also past president of the St. Teresa's Senior Citizens Club.
She was an active parishioner at St. Francis and John Catholic Parish in Georgetown Kentucky.
She was the mother of the late Bob and John Hargreaves. She was the sister of the late John Hardy, Cecile Casey, and Claire Coleman.
Mrs. Hargreaves leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Cheryl (Hargreaves) Sargent and Douglas Hargreaves, their mother Dolores Hargreaves, and her great-granddaughter Sydney Sargent (Benjamin), all of Kentucky. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Laura Hardy, nephews Keith and Kevin Hardy, Frank Casey, and niece Michelle Hardy and many grand nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind dear friends, especially, Minnie Arnold of Kentucky.
The funeral for Frances will be Saturday, January 19, at 9:00 am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. Her burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
