The Flower Shoppe marks 80 years

November 28, 2012

PAWTUCKET — Happily for new owner Kayla Bessette Imbracsio, business has been blooming for 80 years at The Flower Shoppe in Pawtucket. As such, she is inviting the public to a Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 2 for a celebration of “family, friends, flowers and fun.”
Doors will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Flower Shoppe, located at 1 Hanover Ave., off Newport Avenue. There will be holiday floral displays and decorations, gifts available for purchase, and refreshments. Plus, Santa Claus will be making an appearance from 1 to 3 p.m. For Imbracsio, it is the perfect time of year to show off the longtime floral business to the community as it transitions to the fourth generation.
Imbracsio bought The Flower Shoppe from her uncle, David Kinder, in September.
Yet, she feels like she has always been a part of the neighborhood flower shop, since she helped out and worked there throughout her teens and while attending college. “I have always been around the business and I enjoy it,” she said. She adds that she has taken numerous floral arranging classes to keep up with the latest industry styles and trends.
