Fernando do Nascimento
PAWTUCKET - Fernando do Nascimento, 91, of Orange Park, FL and formerly of Pawtucket died Monday in Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, FL. He was the husband of the late Maria de Lurdes (Barata) Nascimento.
Born in SetÃºbal, Portugal, a son of the late DamiÃ£o and Ermelinda (da ConceiÃ§Ã£o) Nascimento. He came to this country in 1973.
Mr. DoNascimento worked as a Machine Operator for the former Attleboro Dye and Finish Co. and also for Ridco Casting Co. in Pawtucket.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and a member of the Clube Juventude Lusitana, both of Cumberland prior to moving to Florida. He served as a director for different annexes of the Lusitana Club over the years. He also loved soccer and was an avid follower and member of the Clube de Futebol os Belenenses. In addition, he was a fan of the Sport Lisboa e Benfica. His hobbies were fishing and reading.
He is survived by his son, Fernando D. Nascimento and Diane Uhran of Orange Park, FL, three granddaughters, Shannon Hatchet, Lindsay Carpenter, Danielle (Nascimento) Lucas and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Augusta, Candida, Maria and Miraldina Nascimento.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 8 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
