Edward J. Howe
NORTON, MA - Edward J. Howe, 74, of Dean Street, Norton, died on Monday at his residence.
He was the husband of Carol M. (Perry) Howe.
Born in Pawtucket on March 29, 1937, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Mary (McGill) Howe. Mr. Howe resided in Norton for the past 37 years having moved there from Attleboro.
He was employed as a meat cutter for the former Almacs Supermarket at various locations for several years until an injury ended his career in 1974.
While employed, Mr. Howe was a steward of the Teamster's Union.
In addition to his wife, he leaves four daughters: Patricia Bramwell and her husband, Gregg Bramwell, of Norton; Donna Farias and her husband, Frank Farias, of Pawtucket; Carla Vierkant and her husband, Frank Vierkant, of Attleboro and Michelle Douglass and her husband, Edward Douglass, of Norton; ten grandchildren: Becky Beaton, Brent and Brian Bramwell, Derrick and Matthew Cabral, Andrea Furtado, Melissa and Edward Vierkant and Rachel and Ashley Douglass; seven great grand- children; a brother: Donald Howe and his wife, Claire Howe, of Pascoag; two sisters: Jane Durand and her husband, Robert Durand, of Pawtucket and Cheryl Chandonnait and her husband, Richard Chandonnait, of North Carolina and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:45 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
Funeral service immediately following visitation at 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America or the Celiac Disease Foundation. Please specify which organization donations should be directed.
