Edward J. Carpenter Jr.
CUMBERLAND - Edward J. Carpenter Jr., 57, of Doire Rd. died Saturday in R. I. Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen A. (Doire)Carpenter.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of Anne (DeCiantis) Carpenter of North Port, FL and Warwick and the late Edward J. Carpenter Sr. He was a life long Cumberland resident.
He was employed in the Engineering Department of Kent Hospital, Warwick for the past 10 years and was previously employed by the former Rizzo Ford Co., North Providence for 17 years.
Besides his mother he leaves four children, Heather L. Carpenter of Pawtucket; Courtney B. Huard, Jonathan E. Carpenter and Jennah R. Carpenter all of Cumberland. Two step sons, Lt. Adam Maziarz U. S. Navy and Andrew Maziarz both of Cumberland. He also leaves a sister Carole Maxwell of North Port, FL; David Carpenter of Lincoln and Scott Carpenter of Cumberland. Mr. Carpenter also leaves three grandchildren, Grant, Blake and Sydney Huard all of Cumberland.
A celebration of his life and funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
