Edward Haworth

SOUTH KINGSTOWN- Haworth, Edward, 90, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved and inseparable husband of Lena Louise (Cotton) Haworth for sixty seven years.
Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Alexander and Esther (Walmsley) Haworth.
He was a 1943 graduate of Wentworth Institute, Boston, MA. Mr. Haworth served in the US Army Air Corp in Great Britain during W.W. II., part of the greatest generation. He worked as an Acoustical Engineer for H. Carr and Son in Providence and Boston for many years before retiring. He was a former member and very active in the Primitive Methodist Church in Cumberland for sixty eight years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Narragansett. He was involved in the Boy Scouts Troop 3, Londsdale for over forty years. Mr. Haworth enjoyed spending summers in Little Compton, traveling, cruising and spending time in his woodworking shed in NH. Most of all his greatest joys and blessings were spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Besides his wife he leaves his loving daughters, Nancy Hathaway and her husband Dr. Kenneth of Narragansett and Janice Horton and her husband Donald of Nonquitt, MA; grandchildren, Lori Kornfield, Rebecca Mason, Jessica Joss, Sarah Hathaway and Bryan Horton and seven great grandchildren. He was brother of the late William Haworth. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Narragansett, 305 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church or Gideon's International, P.O. Box 178, Wakefield, RI 02880.
