WEST PALM BEACH, FL. - Malloy, Edward G, 81, passed away Sunday September 8, 2013 at his home in West Palm Beach, Fl. He was the companion of Joan E. Welch. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late George J. Malloy and Sarah (Chase) Malloy of Pawtucket.
He is survived by his 2 children, Roxanne Wood of Pawtucket, Alyson Malloy of Providence, the late Edward Malloy, Jr. of Richmond Va, Dorothy Ann Graham of Providence, Lori Lee Malloy of East Providence. Grandfather of Justin Malloy of Warwick, Amanda Daly of East Providence, Lauren Malloy of North Smithfield, Ariana, Alexia, and Lennox Wood of Pawtucket. Brother of Doris McGill of Fowlerville, Michigan and the late Joseph Malloy of Pawtucket., RI. He is also survived by his niece Susan Malloy of Pawtucket, his nephews Michael Malloy of Cranston, Daniel Malloy of East Providence, Timothy Malloy of Pawtucket, Daniel McGill of Michigan, and the late Luke Malloy of Cranston. He is also survived by four great grandsons and has several great nieces and great nephews.
Before retiring, Edward was a coach and tour bus driver for several years. He served in the Navy in the Korean War and was affiliated with several organizations including: James A Ryan Amvets Post #33, Commodore of the Pawtuxet Yacht Club, member of Walter G Gatchell VFW Post #306. the Howard Rodgers post #25, a life time member of the PAC, and a member of the Moose Club. He was selected one of "the Faces of Ireland" by the Pawtucket Parade committee.
A memorial Service will be held at St. Theresa's Church on Newport Ave., Pawtucket on Monday September 16, 2013 at 10:00 am. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, and the Disabled American Veterans,
