Duarte M. Santos
CENTRAL FALLS - Duarte M. Santos, 81 of Central Falls died Sunday at the Philip Hulitar Impatient Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria A. (DaSilva) Santos. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rosa (Pacheco) dosSantos. Duarte came to the US in 1970 and settled in Cambridge. He has been a Central Falls resident since 1973.
Prior to his retirement in 1993 he was a kitchen worker at Providence College for 12 years.
Beside his wife, Duarte is survived by two sons, Edgar Santos and Ricardo Santos both of Central Falls; a daughter, Ana Santos of Central Falls; four sisters, Liduina Terra of Ohio, Zelia Brescia of Massachusetts, Maria Furtado of Canada and Dalia Sousa of Massachusetts; and 2 grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Valdomira Teixeira.
His funeral will be held on Thursday 8:15 a.m. from the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit Church, 1030 Dexter Street, Central Falls at 9:30 a.m. His life will be celebrated with calling hours on Wednesday from 5:00 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
