Dr. Thomas M. Aissis, DDS
SEEKONK, MA - Dr. Thomas M. Aissis, DDS, 94, of Brook Street died Wednesday,December 28, 2011 at Pawtucket Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Pawtucket. He was the husband of the late Mary E.(Senno) Aissis.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Habib and Bahia (Haskoor) Aissis, he had lived in Seekonk for the past 55 years.
Dr. Aissis was a dentist with his practice in Pawtucket for 19 years and later on Broad Street, Central Falls for 50 years, retiring in 1995. He was a life member of the American Dental Association, the Rhode Island Dental Association and the Pawtucket District Dental Society.
He attended the University of Rhode Island and was a graduate of Temple University Dental School.
He served as a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Dr. Aissis was a 58-year member and an honorary member of Pawtucket Country Club.
He was a member of Sullivan Council 3rd Degree, Knights of Columbus and a member of Delaney Assembly 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by one daughter, Carol A. Jackson of Pawtucket; one son, Thomas J. Aissis and his wife, Nancy of Smithfield; three grandchildren, Kristen Lane and her husband, Raymond of Smithfield, Jodi Cabral and her husband, Joseph of Rumford, and Christopher Jackson of Pawtucket; four great grandchildren, Katelyn and Ryan Lane, both of Smithfield, and Meghan and Matthew Cabral, both of Rumford; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, Jerry, George, James and Rose Aissis, and Sarah Nasif.
His funeral will be held TUESDAY, JANUARY 3 at 8:45 A.M. from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in the Church of St. Basil the Great, 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln. Burial will be in St. Basil's Cemetery, Cumberland.
