Dorothy M. Tondreau
PAWTUCKET - Dorothy M. "Dot" Tondreau, 88, peacefully departed this world in her sleep Thursday, July 21, 2011.
A classically trained painter, Dorothy, known to family and friends as "Dot" or "Dottie," excelled in both watercolor and oil painting. In addition to her talent in painting, she was also a skilled and enthusiastic art teacher to family, several of her nieces and nephews having gone on to become successful artists themselves. With an amusing anecdote for nearly every situation, Dot leaves everyone she knew with an abundance of fond memories.
She will be sorely missed by her remaining sisters: Evelyn (Tondreau) Pontbriant, Marie (Tondreau) Franklin, and Marilyn (Tondreau) Taylor; her many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews and one great-grand-nephew. However, she will be welcomed home in heaven by her loving mother Doris, her father Joseph, her sister Alice, and her niece Cheri Ann.
Calling hours will begin at 9am before her 10am funeral service in the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. The burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rhode Island Watercolor Society in her honor. For online condolences please visit www.manningheffern.com.
