SOUTH ATTLEBORO - Doris R. "Mema" (Lavallee) Gervais, 77, a retired hairdresser, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 27, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. "Pe-Pa” Gervais, Sr.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Alexander and Rose (Lemire) Lavallee, she resided in South Attleboro for over fifty years.
Dot and her late husband wintered in Cape Coral, Florida for twenty- five years. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dot enjoyed Twin Rivers, Foxwoods, playing cribbage and luncheons with her friends. She loved all animals, especially her dogs.
She leaves three children, Kathy Risser and her husband John of Attleboro, Joe Gervais and Lynne of Osprey, Florida and Tracey Barry of Attleboro; a former daughter-in-law, Vicky Gervais; five grandchildren, Nikki Farrell and her husband Tim, Shane Barry, Joseph Barry, Kelly Pendleton and Kristen Golden; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Madysen, Madison, Brittany, Justin, Emily and Brayden; four sisters, Jeanne Armfield of Central Falls, Claire Haskell of Newport, Pauline Swiech of Cranston and Rose Ferland of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Theresa Paquette, Roland, Raymond, Leo, Roger and Henry Lavallee.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro. Interment will follow at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro. VISITATION will be Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. www.TrippFuneralHome.com
