CUMBERLAND- Donald Sankey, 75, of Broadview Avenue, passed away Wednesday in the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Priscilla (Butler) Sankey.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Albert and Helen (Dunford) Sankey. He resided in Cumberland for the past 49 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.
Before retirement, he was employed by the Cumberland School Department for 10 years, and previously worked as a carpenter. He was the former owner of Central Avenue Liquors of Pawtucket.
Besides his beloved wife, he leaves two daughters, Susan J. McPhail, and her husband Scott of Rochester Hills, MI and Lisa L. Connoly, and her husband John of Hingham, MA; one sister, Jane Grocott of Warwick; two brothers, Gary Sankey of Pawtucket, and Howard Sankey of Palm Bay, FL; four grandchildren, Jared McPhail, Nathan McPhail, Katherine Connoly and Jack Connoly.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Requiem Eucharist will be held at 10 AM in the Christ Church, Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Burial will be private. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 PM.
