Dolores E. Buba
Pawtucket - Dolores E. "Dee" (Bogdan) Buba, 80, formerly of Pawtucket passed away peacefully at a hospital in Virginia. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard, whom she met in the seventh grade. She was born and raised in Pawtucket and was the daughter of the late Adol Bogdan and Stacia (Mroz) Hillman. She is also survived by her sister, E. Carolyn Bogdan of Onset, MA.
She graduated from East High School and was employed at Joy Chemical Co. in Pawtucket attaining the position of Operations Manager.
After her marriage in 1957, Dee accompanied her husband on several work assignments within the United States and Europe. Always one to keep occupied, she took on various roles at each location. In Los Angeles, she worked in the Administration Office of the UCLA Law School. In Hawaii, she graduated from the University of Hawaii with a B.A. English Literature major and a Russian minor. In Germany, she volunteered to be the director of the Girl Scout community activities at U.S. military bases within the Stuttgart area. In Virginia, she was employed at AAA National Headquarters as the Manager of Club Records maintaining data and statistics for all AAA offices in the United States and Canada and participating at AAA Annual Meetings held in various cities.
Dee retired from AAA when the headquarters office moved from Virginia to Florida. Her interest in art increased and she took painting classes and attended workshops. She was a semi-active golfer until osteoporosis made it difficult for her. In later years, she created and painted special occasion cards with personalized messages to relatives and friends.
Her funeral will be held SATURDAY, JUNE 30 at 9 A.M. from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Jude's Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call FRIDAY 5-8 P.M.
