CUMBERLAND - Deolinda Costa, 96, of Eddy Street passed away peacefully Tuesday in the Grandview Center, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late Jose Antonio DaCosta.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Jose Miguel DosSantos and Maria Augusta Ribeiro. She resided in Cumberland for the past 20 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.
Mrs. Costa was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland. She loved to reflect in prayer, sing, cook, but most of all she was a friend to all.
She leaves three daughters, Margaret Roque of North Smithfield, Rose Mary Teixeira of Cumberland, and Esther Pato of Woonsocket; two brothers, Eduardo DosSantos and Joao Ribeiro, both of Portugal; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Antonio Costa and sister of the late Manuel Miguel, Antonio DosSantos and Jose DosSantos.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 PM.
