CENTRAL FALLS - Dennis Robert Eaton, 64, of Central Falls and formerly of South Attleboro, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011. He was the cherished husband of Viola "Vi" (Mathis) Eaton for thirty-seven years.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late James E. and Claire R. (Remy) Eaton, he resided in South Attleboro for thirty-four years until moving to Central Falls four months ago. He was a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the South Attleboro VFW. Dennis was employed by AT & T as a communication technician for 37 years until retiring in 2001, and then continued with the company as a part-time consultant until 2006.
He was the father of two incredible human beings, the late Melissa Anne Eaton, and Patrick Leslie Eaton of Greenville, RI. He was the doting grandfather to his most beloved Abigail Melissa Eaton of South Attleboro, as well as a devoted friend to her cherished mother, Ms. Kendra Botelho of Attleboro. Besides his loving wife and son, he is survived by his sister, Jane Gagne and her husband, Roland of Burrillville; three brothers and their wives, Alan and Lucienne Eaton of North Smithfield, David and Annette Eaton of North Attleboro and Gregory and Deborah Eaton of Thompson, CT. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Minnie Lee Wambolt of Taunton, and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd., Providence.
