SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The world championship dream is over.
The memories will last a lifetime.
Cumberland's Little League World Series run ended Monday night at Lamade Stadium as it made another furious comeback only to watch Chicago score two fifth-inning runs and win an 8-7 thriller.
While they lost in their final game, Cumberland's Comeback Kids made one final statement about why they were so successful this summer. Cumberland turned a 6-2 third-inning deficit into a 7-6 lead against a team that entered the Series undefeated and that averaged 16 runs in its first 15 games.
