PAWTUCKET — In a situation that has become as muddled as the mint in a Mojito, the City Council’s Board of License Commissioners once again delayed a decision on the transfer of a liquor license to the new owner of a Mineral Spring Avenue bar.
The board had postponed from December 11 a decision on a petition from La Esquina Inc. to obtain a license transfer from the Ilha Verde Club Inc., doing business as Mingo’s Bar & Grill at 447 Mineral Spring Ave. A public hearing had been held on Dec. 11, during which several neighbors voiced objections to the transfer of the liquor license. They cited problems with noise, fights and other drunken and unruly behavior in the surrounding neighborhood when the bar was open.
