Constance M. Collette
Constance M. Collette, 88 died on Monday at The Holiday in Lincoln. She was the wife of the late Henry D. Collette. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Leo and Stephanie (Laferriere) Collette, she was a lifelong resident of the Blackstone Valley.
An alumna of River College, she received her R.N. degree from St. Joseph Hospital's School of Nursing. She was a caretaker of the Lawton Dental Clinic in Central Falls, and was an honorary member of the Special Forces. She was also a former parishioner of Notre Dame Church in Central Falls.
Survivors are two sons: Robert L.A. (Ann) Collette of Arlington, VA, and John B. (Debra) Collette of Cumberland; five daughters: Suzanne S. (Carson) Sandlin of San Antonio, TX, Jeannine C. Lawson of Pawtucket, Elise Y. (Richard) Nievera of Central falls, Nancy C. (Edward) Saflarski of Spring Branch, TX, Karen A. Standring of Cumberland; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson; one brother: Ronald (Angela)Collette of Lincoln. She was the sister of the late Valmore, Raymond and Rene Collette, and the mother-in-law of the late Lowell Lawson.
The funeral will be held on Friday (August 26) at 9:00 AM from the DARLINGTON MORTUARY OF L. HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. John The Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Avenue, Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Notre dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Sister Beatrice's Ministry, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls or to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, RI would be appreciated.
