Coaching, leading all the same to Ferri

He used to coach college softball and baseball. But now he's far more likely to be found coaching his much younger City Council colleagues on how to survive the rough and tumble world of City Hall politics.

Typically, the role of a coach is to guide current players. In most but not all cases, coaches have played the game they are coaching. Therefore, they can describe what needs to be done, offer advice. Coaches wear a lot of hats: they are at various times psychologists; tormentors; father figures; motivators; older brothers.

Mr. Bob Ferri has seen a thing or two hundred in his days in Central Falls City Hall. I imagine he knows where the bodies are buried, so to speak. In 2014, Bob finds himself, as City Council President, in a highly visible leadership and mentorship role.
