Clovis J. Gauthier
PAWTUCKET - Clovis J. "Brother" Gauthier, 83, of Pawtucket died at home on Friday. He was the husband of 62 years of Rita M. Gauthier. Born in Pawtucket and a lifelong resident of the city, he was the son of the late Rosario and Hilda (Boday) Gauthier.
He was a deacon of Our Lady of Consolation Church since 1977. He was a life member of LeFoyer and had been employed at the American Wire Corporation for 43 years. During World War II, he served in the Army and saw service overseas.
Besides his wife, survivors are his daughter, Susan Gauthier of Central Falls; two sons, Paul Gauthier of Sacramento, Calif., and Thomas Gauthier of North Smithfield; a brother, Ronald Gauthier of Pawtucket; and a sister, Flora Sipes of North Carolina. He was the brother of the late Raymond Gauthier. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Raymond Jr., Colleen, Rachel, Charles, Kim, Ronald, Elizabeth and Alexander and three great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Tuesday (Sept. 6) at 9 a.m. from the DARLINGTON MORTUARY OF L/ HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Consolation Church, 211 Sabin St.,Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home will be TODAY from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Hospice Care of R.I., 1085 North Main St., Providence would be appreciated.
