Clare G. O'Neill
PAWTUCKET - Clare G. (Powers) O'Neill, 98 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 2, 2011. She was the wife of the late Thomas V. O'Neill, Sr. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was the daughter of Richard and Matilda (Murphy) Powers. Mother of Clare M. O'Neill and her fiancĂ© Michael McWilliams of Seekonk, and the late Thomas V. O'Neill, Jr and his wife Frances O'Neill of Fryeburg, Maine. She leaves her grandchildren Kristin Lyons of Seekonk and Susan Young of Nebraska and their father Robert B. Lyons of Pawtucket, Kerri O'Neill and Colleen Colella of Fryeburg, ME, Joseph Moorehead of Richmond, RI and Katherine Holden of Maine. She leaves several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mildred Murphy, Margaret Stanton, Ann Lotti, Dorothy Beaudoin, Eleanor Tormey.
She was employed as a seamstress for local manufacturers. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Guild.
The calling hours will be Monday, September 5 from 4-8pm in the Jeanne Jugan Residence, Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main St, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. O'Neill Tuesday at 11: 30 a.m. in the Little Sisters of the Poor Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery.
