Claire A. Tetreault
ATTLEBORO - Claire A. Tetreault, 72, of Attleboro, surrounded by her family, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Norwood Hospital. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on May 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Pearl (Eliott) Marcotte of Central Falls, RI.
She attended Notre Dame Academy in Rhode Island and recently attended her 50th reunion in 2010. She was an active member of St. Stephen's Church and later Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, where she was proud to serve as a Eucharistic Minister and prayer chain member.
Claire was a resident of Hebron Mill apartments for nearly 20 years, where she initiated and encouraged many social activities among the residents. Claire was a very talented crafts person. She was self-taught in knitting, crocheting, and quilting and loved making gifts and teaching others these skills. All of her family and many of her friends cherish these heartfelt treasures.
To Claire, family was everything! She was a beloved Mother, Memere, Sister, MaTante, Daughter, and friend to many. She is survived by her five sons: Raymond (and his wife Linda) of Tolland, CT; Marc (and his fiancĂ© Sherlyn Fenton) of Plainville, MA; Paul (and his partner John Jeter) of Washington, DC; Daniel (and his wife Barbara) of Center Conway, NH; and Steven (and his wife Kirsten) of South Attleboro, MA. Her beloved grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Tayleigh, Kelly, Kristen, Alyssa, Ryan, Raymond, Tianna, Kaya, Natalie, Sara, Chiara, and Eliana. She was one of eight siblings; the late Leon Marcotte (and his wife Florence), Sister Pauline Marcotte, SSA, the late Rosaire Marcotte (and his wife Rochelle), Ernest Marcotte (and his wife Vivian), Paul Marcotte (and his wife Monique), Irene Pelland (and her husband Bob), the late George Marcotte (and his wife Sue Grant), and Rose-Marie Desmarais (and her husband Mike).
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, January 23rd from 4pm-8pm at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. The funeral will be on Tuesday morning, Jan. 24th, at 10:00 a.m. beginning at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, 385 Central Street, Seekonk, MA. Claire will be laid to rest in Notre Dame Cemetery in Rhode Island.
