Claire M. Coutu
PAWTUCKET - Claire M. Coutu, 95, of East Avenue, Towers East, Pawtucket, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Henry C. Coutu.
Claire was born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Osea and Ozeline (Boutin) Lallier. Though she worked as a textile worker and then retired from Hasbro Industries, she enjoyed being a home maker to her family the most.
She leaves her children, Henry O. Coutu of Pawtucket, Gerard C. Coutu of Conway, NH, Ronald R. Coutu of Pawtucket, Elaine M. Briere of Newport VT, seventeen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Claire also leaves a brother, Gerard Lallier, sisters Florence Nadeau and Theresa Emond. Mrs. Coutu came from a large and loving family of fourteen children.
The funeral for Mrs. Coutu will be Monday, October 29th at 9:00am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. The calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8 pm in the funeral home. For directions and guest book signatures, please visit
