City workers help out with holiday tradition

December 10, 2012

City employees, some elected officials, including Mayor Donald Grebien, and other volunteers helped serve food to local seniors and other members of the community on Monday at the annual Mayor's Holiday Dinner held at the Portuguese Social Club, 131 School St. The annual event, free and open to all city residents, is made possible through donations of money, food and service from area businesses and individuals. Key sponsors this year were Pawtucket Credit Union, Washington Trust and Bristol County Savings Bank. City officials estimated that about 175 people enjoyed a turkey dinner with all of the fixings and dessert.
