City man gets indicted on sex assault charges involving minors

PAWTUCKET—A 79-year-old Pawtucket man, Hillario DePina, was indicted by the Providence County Grand Jury on Oct. 28 on sexual assault charges involving minors.
According to the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office, DePina, of Leonard Jenard Drive, was charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation and one count of enticement of a child.
It is alleged that on or about between Jan. 1, 2011 and July 1, 2011, DePina persuaded a minor child under the age of 16 with the intent to engage in lewd and illicit conduct. It is further alleged that DePina molested a person 14 years of age or under, with the molestation being in the first degree.
The alleged incidents took place in Pawtucket, and the Pawtucket Police conducted the investigation. DePina, who is currently being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institution, is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on Nov. 16.
