PAWTUCKET - Charlotte (Hosfeld) Tarpy, 89, of Pequot Road died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Martin L. Tarpy.
Born in Shippensburg, PA, a daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Boher)Hosfeld, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life.
Mrs. Tarpy was a graduate of Connecticut College, Class of 1943. She earned her Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Rhode Island College. She was a Corporator of the Memorial Hospital of RI and was a Past President of the Memorial Hospital of RI Auxiliary. She was a member of Wannamoisett Country Club, Rumford and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was a member of St. Paul's Church, Pawtucket.
She is survived by one son, Peter L. Tarpy of Lincoln; one daughter, Susan Hines of Warwick; three grandsons, John and David Hines, and Matthew Tarpy; one great granddaughter and two great grandsons. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Hosfeld.
A Requiem Eucharist will be held SATURDAY, MARCH 5 at 11 A.M. in St. Paul's Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Concord Calvary Cemetery, Concord, NH.
