Charles E. Calverley
PAWTUCKET - Charles E. Calverley, 80, of Gill Avenue in Pawtucket, formerly of Park Street and Young Street in Pawtucket, died on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket. He was the longtime loving husband of Margaret A. (Burchard)Calverley, to whom he was married on April 27, 1957 at the Sacred Heart Church in East Providence.
Born in Providence on March 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Frederick Calverley and Nellie (Kilburn) Calverley. He was a 1948 graduate of Hope High School in Providence.
Mr. Calverley resided in Pawtucket for the past 25 years, where he relocated from his previous residence in Cumberland.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Calverley served during the Korean War era from 1951 until 1953.
Mr. Calverley was employed for 26 years in the maintenance department of the Mercury Print and Mail Company of Pawtucket prior to his retirement in 1999.
In addition to his wife of over 53 years, he leaves a daughter: Linda LeTellier and her husband Omer, of Attleboro; two sons: Kevin Calverley and his wife LouAnn, of Attleboro and Stephen Calverley and his wife Tracey, of Tiverton; ten grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was the brother of the late Frederick Calverley of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
