Charles C. Burns
SOUTH ATTLEBORO - Charles C. Burns of Allen Ave. passed away peacefully Monday, December, 26, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI surrounded by his loving family. He died at the age of 70 after being stricken by an unexpected illness.
Charles was a beloved father, grandfather and friend to many. He is survived by his three sons, Robert (Bobby) Burns of North Attleboro, MA and his children Arrianna, Brannon and Sabrina; Richard Burns and his wife of North Attleboro, MA and their children Kaden and Ashlyn; Ronald Burns and his wife Heather of North Attleboro, MA and their children Nathan and Rachel; his daughter Renee and her children Kyle and Mallory and her fiance Steve Burgen of Chicopee, MA and his children Ariana and Justin; his companion, Kanom (Connie) Demty of South Attleboro, MA and his former wife, Jeannette (Riccard) Burns of Cumberland, RI.
Born February 5, 1941 in Pawtucket, RI and raised and educated in South Attleboro, MA he was the son of the late James Burns and Maria (Salois) Miles. He is also survived by two brothers; James Burns of Warwick, RI and William Miles of Seekonk, MA; a sister Dolores Racine of Seekonk, MA and the late Robert E. Burns; in addition to many nieces, nephews and friends.
He worked at the Foxboro Company for over 25 years and later ran his own business "Classic Cleanups" - doing what he loved best landscaping and lawn care. He was devoted to his children, coaching their baseball teams when they were young and he could often be heard on the sidelines of many games cheering his kids on "First Down a Touchdown" - he was their biggest fan. His devotion continued with his grandchildren whom he loved very much and enjoyed spending time with.
Affectionately known by many nicknames Chuck, Chicky, Singing Charlie, Dancing Charlie, "Rock-n-Roll" Charlie - Charles was full of life. Whether it was singing karaoke, or dancing at weddings or to the music at the annual Kid's Day event, Charles was liked by all who met him and leaves behind many lasting memories.
Visiting hours will held on Thursday, December 29, from 4-8 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, December 30 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Attleboro.
