Carolyn B. Harrop-Cassidy
Norton - Carolyn B.(Marsland) Harrop-Cassidy, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 12, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold C. Harrop and the late Giles F. Cassidy.
Born in Pawtucket, the only daughter of the late James and Isabella (Goodier) Marsland, she resided in Pawtucket and Seekonk before moving to Norton 26 years ago. Carolyn was employed by the Robbins Company, Attleboro for many years until retiring. After her retirement, she worked at Honey Dew Donuts, Norton and later at the Attleboro Medical Center, Sturdy St., Attleboro. Carolyn was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, Pawtucket where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also a volunteer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro for 30 years and a trip organizer for the Seekonk Chapter of the AARP. She leaves her daughter, Sheila E. Souza and husband William with whom she resided; four grandchildren, Bill R. Souza and Jason H. Souza both of Norton, Kory J. Souza of Georgia and Matthew K. Souza of Norton; two great-grandchildren, Tyara Souza and Nicholas Batista and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late George, William, Richard, Ernie, Willard â€śLennyâ€ť, Howie, Wilbur and Earl Marsland. VISITATION will be Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, 91 Cottage St., Pawtucket.
