Benita R. Mooney
CUMBERLAND - Benita R. (Noga) Mooney, 83, passed away Saturday at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Edward T. Mooney, and they had been married for 63 years.
Born in Dudley, MA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Stella (Augustynski) Noga. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
Mrs. Mooney was employed as an Associate at Ann & Hope Inc. for over 30 years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Cumberland. Among many interests, she loved her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband she leaves her daughter, Rose Ann (Stephen) Dube of Cumberland, her son Peter (Lisa) L. Mooney of Cumberland; her sister, Wanda Lawless of Cumberland; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Matthew J. Mooney and Thomas R. Mooney; and sister of the late Leon Noga, Raymond Noga, Edmund Noga, Valmore Noga and Leona Gevry.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday at 8 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in the St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM.
