NORTH KINGSTON - Beatrice (Patenaude) Benjamin, 90, died on Christmas Day at the South County Nursing and Rehab Center in North Kingston following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Roland Benjamin. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Edmund and Olivine (St. Jean) Patenaude, she had been a resident of Pawtucket since 1976 where she was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church. She was a member of the Seniors Club of St. Matthew (Holy Spirit Catholic Community) Church in Central Falls.
Prior to retirement in 1980, she had been employed as an assembler at the former Shaw Paper Box Company of Pawtucket for twenty-five years.
Survivors are one son: Robert Benjamin of Narragansett and three grandsons: Adam Benjamin of Florida, Zachary Benjamin of West Virginia and Christopher Benjamin of Fall River, and two great grandsons. She was the mother of the late Roland J. Benjamin and the sister of the late Jeannette Genereux and Lawrence and Edmund Patenaude.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon on Friday (December 28) in St. Cecilia Church. Calling hours will be from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the DARLINGTON MORTUARY OF L. HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Activities Fund of the Darlington Memory Lane (Assisted Living) 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI 02904, would be appreciated.
