PAWTUCKET — They'll be rockin' by the river tonight, as the 14th annual Pawtucket Arts Festival gets underway with its Gala and “Taste of Pawtucket” events.
The opening night Gala and “Taste of Pawtucket” will start at 6 p.m. along a portion of Roosevelt Avenue near the intersection with Main Street and on the grounds of Slater Mill (rain or shine). It promises to be an evening of delicious restaurant samplings served with an ample portion of zydeco music, dance and refreshment, all by the banks of the mighty Blackstone River and historic Slater Mill Museum site.
The entry fee for both events is $10 (children under 12 are admitted free) and tickets will be sold at the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center at 175 Main St. and at the entrance gate.
Both the “Taste of Pawtucket” and the Festival Gala are at the heart of Pawtucket Arts Festival history and serve as major fundraisers to support the festival's future.
