PAWTUCKET - Arnie J. Carello of Pawtucket died January 23, 2012 at his home. He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the Anthony J. and Alice (Soares) Carello. He was employed for many years as a chef in Florida at the Marriott. Most recently, he was employed at Shaw's Market in East Providence, RI.
Arnie graduated from William M. Davies Vocational High School in the Culinary Arts program. He resided in Deerfield Beach, FL for over 20 years. He was an avid sports fan of all New England teams including the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. As a young man, Arnie played football for the Pawtucket Crusaders, and was active in martial arts, earning a red belt in Tae Kwon Do. Arnie had a great love of animals, and enjoyed taking daily walks with his dogs.
Besides his parents, Arnie is survived by his two daughters, Lauren and Madison Carello of Deerfield Beach, Florida, four brothers; Michael A. and Jonathon A. of Pawtucket, Peter J. and his wife Sharyn of Lincoln, Matthew J. and his wife Michelle of Plainville, MA, and his sister Mary Carello of Manville, RI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Mr. Carello will be Wednesday, February 1, at 9:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, Walcott Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. His calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.
