Antonio Alberto Cabral
VIRGINIA BEACH - Antonio Alberto Cabral, 54, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on August 28, 2012.
Born on August 15, 1958, in Muxagata, Fornos de Algodres, Portugal. He was the son of the late Fernando and Albertina Cabral.
Tony was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He will be forever remembered for his charismatic and dynamic presence and for his loving nature.
Raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Tony joined the US Navy, relocating him to Virginia Beach, where he met Lia, his devoted wife of 30 years, and raised his three children, Phillip, Christina, and Stephanie. He was a supervisor at Naval Air Rework Facility and served the VF-C12 Navy Reserves until his retirement. For the past 20 years, he and his family have owned Lago Mar Pizza, and later, Lucky Oyster in the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach. With hard work and support, Tony and his family turned Lago Mar Pizza and Lucky Oyster into successful restaurants, valued by many loyal customers. Tony was a very active part of the community, donating to local schools, charitable organizations, and sponsoring local sports teams. He was also an avid soccer player all of his life. He was a team captain and star player in high school. He continued playing soccer, served as a team captain and was on the board of directors for the OTSL in Virginia Beach.
Tony dedicated his life to his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Lia and three children Phillip, Christina and Stephanie. He is also survived by his brothers Jose and wife Anna Maria Cabral, Carlos and wife Donna Cabral, Julio Cabral, and his sister Amy Cabral. Also, his mother in-law, Asimina Barberis, and his wife's sisters Despina and husband John Titsis, Stella and husband Robert Bondi, Leta and husband George Antoniou, and Anna Barberis. Tony is also survived by his many loving nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 3, 2012 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Home at 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23454 from 6 - 8 p.m. with a Trisagion Prayer Service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at 621 First Colonial Road Virginia Beach, VA 23451, by Father John Manuel and Reverend Father Constantine Rogakos, Ph.D. Burial Services will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park at 1110 North Great Neck Road Virginia Beach, VA 23454.
Tony's kind heart, love, support, inspiration and dedication to family and friends will be missed by all, especially his wife and children. We love you and miss you Pops. You will always be in our hearts. We will spread your love, kindness, laughter and generosity. We will make you proud!
