Anna Magdalene Newton
PAWTUCKET - Anna Magdalene Newton, 96, originally from Pawtucket and Smithfield, RI, passed away on August 30, 2012, at her residence in Forest, VA, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Pawtucket, RI on August 15, 1916, the daughter of the late George P. and Mary Ann (Brennan) Arsenault.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 66 years, Arthur Newton of Smithfield, RI; her son, Albert W. Newton of Wickford, RI; two sisters: Dorothy M. Coderre, of North Attleboro, MA and Helen V. St. Martin of Lutz, Florida.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce A. DeLage and husband William of Forest, VA; six grandchildren: Steven DeLage of Vienna, VA; Marianne Donelson of Macon, GA; Robert Newton of McLean, VA; Keith Lewis of Tiverton, RI; Jennifer Newton Bissonnette of Wickford, RI and Judith Newton of Cotati, CA.
Additional survivors include eleven great-grandchildren and four special nieces: Beverly A. Foley of Seekonk, MA; Dorothy M. Coombs of Lincoln, RI; Moira E. Hanson of North Providence, RI and MaryAnn Cassel of West Roxbury, MA.
Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 10:00 AM, in St. Joseph's Church, 195 Walcott St. Pawtucket, RI, followed by internment in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.
