CUMBERLAND - Alzira (Lemos) Teixeira, age 88, of Cumberland, died on July 8, 2011 at Miriam Hospital in Providence after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Armando Teixeira. Born in Pawtucket on February 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Alberto Lemos and Palmira deConceicao of Ribamondego, Gouveia Portugal. Mrs. Teixeira spent all of her adult life in Cumberland as a homemaker, and for a period of approximately 15 years assisted as a clerk in the Rhode Island District Court, 7th Division Woonsocket. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
She is survived by her loyal and loving son Armand A. Teixeira, Esq; and his wife attorney Ann Gancz Teixeira. She is also survived by her brother Armando Lemos of Danbury, CT. Mrs. Teixeira was the sister of the late Luciana Sousa and Lionel Lemos. She was the aunt to several nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend and may call from 8:30 am Tuesday July 12, 2011 at the Charles Coelho Funeral Home, 151 Cross Street, Central Falls, followed by her funeral, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland at 10:00a.m. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery in Pawtucket.
