CUMBERLAND - Alda Antonio, 93, of Red Gate Road, passed away surrounded by her loving family Saturday at the Summit Commons Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Ramiro Antonio.
Born in Cumberland on April 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Zulmira (Rodrigues) Cepinha. She was a life-long resident of Cumberland.
Mrs. Antonio was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland.
She leaves her two devoted daughters Emilia Antonio Teixeira and her husband Mario and Susan Antonio Pacheco, Esq. and her husband William R. Burkhardt of Cumberland; two loving grandchildren, Cristina Antonio Pacheco MD and her husband John C. Kawaoka MD of Seekonk and David Antonio Pacheco of San Francisco, CA; one beloved great-granddaughter, Madeleine Mae Kawaoka.
Mrs. Antonio was a quiet pillar of strength and support for her entire family.
The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the staff of Summit Commons Rehabilitation and Health Center for their exceptional care of Mrs. Antonio.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, One Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Curran Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM.
