PAWTUCKET - Albina M. Lakomski, passed away Friday September 7, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter P. Lakomski.
Born in Attleboro, MA she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Polak) Hull. She lived in Pawtucket for the past 63 years.
She was a graduate of Rhode Island College of Education Class of 1947. Mrs. Lakomski was a founding member of Rhode Island Polonia and established a Scholarship Foundation. Rhode Island College awarded her Outstanding Alumni Of The Year for her service to the Polish community. Albina was a direct descendant of a founding member of St. Joseph's Church Central Falls and a Past President of the Parish Council and a member of the former St. Joseph's Seniors.
By being the best of mothers, Albina was also fiercely devoted to her extended family. Her supportive attitude was reflected in her joyful dedication to her dear friends.
She was the loving mother of Maryanne Illman of East Lansing, MI, Marcia Oakes of Pawtucket and Maria Corvese of Cranston, devoted babci of Catherine Illman, Gabriella and Alexander Corvese. She also leaves her cherished great grandson Walter Kellicut and her sister Nora Kartasiewicz of Seekonk, MA, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jennie Lavendier, Bridget Palin, Florence Blazus, Aloysius and Frank Hull.
Mrs. Lakomski's funeral will be held Wednesday September 12, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church 391 High Street Central Falls at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. CALLING HOURS TUESDAY FROM 4:00 PM TO 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations in Mrs. Lakomski's Memory to St. Josephs Church Renovation Fund would be greatly appreciated.
