CUMBERLAND - Albert F. Andrews, 85, of Hunter Drive, passed away Thursday in the Mt. St. Francis Health Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Maria Helen (Costa) Andrews.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Lema) Andrews. He resided in Cumberland for 44 years.
Mr. Andrews was an United States Army, World War II Veteran, attaining the rank of Technician 5th Grade. He was awarded the Weapons Medal, Efficiency Medal, and the Purple Heart.
He was employed as a warehouse worker for Marc Stevens (CVS) for 20 years, retiring in 1992.
Besides his wife he leaves one son, Michael Andrews and one daughter, Sharon Waugh, both of Cumberland; two brothers, Joseph Andrews of East Providence, and George Andrews of Connecticut; one grandson Keith Waugh of Cumberland, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Ronald Andrews and he was the brother of the late Florence McWeeny, and James Andrews.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland.
