PAWTUCKET - Adrienne Blanchard, 105, died on Saturday at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Dorand Blanchard. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Henri and Alexandrine (Brule) Messier, she had resided in Central Falls, then in Cumberland and back in Central Falls prior to moving to Jeanne Jugan Residence 12 years ago. She and her husband had wintered in Mexico for many years.
A registered pharmacist, she received her degree at the R.I. College of Pharmacy and Allied Sciences in Providence in 1925. She served for many years in her father's pharmacy in Central Falls.
She is survived by one sister, Madeline Frigon of Key Largo, Fla. She was the sister of the late Charles, Frederick, Henry L. "Dick" and Roland Messier and of Helene Quintal.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St., Pawtucket on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery in Providence. In lieu of flowers, donatons in her memory to Jeanne Jugan Residence would be appreciated.
